Vocal Ensemble

The Collegium Musicum Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Vicki Bell, is an a cappella chamber choir comprised of 18 singers. While the focus of the repertoire is the choral music of the Renaissance, established masterpieces of all periods, as well as new works, are performed. The Vocal Ensemble supplements its on-campus performance schedule with occasional off-campus events, as in the spring of 2005, when the singers performed at Washington National Cathedral.

In May of 2007, Dr. Bell led the Vocal Ensemble in a performance tour of Italy. Highlights of the tour included a performance in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, and concerts in Rome’s St. Ignatius and the Church of San Gaetano in Florence. The singers also performed a joint concert with the Palestrina Voices, under the direction of Maestro Renzo Cilia, faculty member at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome.

More information about the choir's activities can be found on the choir's website (http://cmve.info).
