News from the Math Department
ETS Major Field Test Scores Released
The department just received the scores from the annual ETS Major Field test, a standardized math subject test given to over 3700 senior math majors nationwide at over 200 institutions. We had only 3 majors take the test last spring so ETS didn’t give us an official ranking but, our average score put us in the 95th percentile nationally! And, none of our students scored below the 75th percentile.
Senior Wins First Place
Senior, Chris Hatfield, won first place in the mathematics division at the annual Kentucky Academy of Sciences meeting in November. Congratulations, Chris.
Senior receives med school fellowship

Senior Clark Sleeth of Wilmore, Ky., is the first Asbury College student to receive the University of Kentucky College of Medicine’s Cralle Foundation/Joan Cralle Day fellowship for 2008-2009. The fellowship will award a $15,000 stipend, a tuition scholarship and student health insurance to Sleeth. Read More »
