Classical Languages
Classical Languages is a major that focuses on the original classical languages, Greek and Latin. Today, the multitudes of languages in the western world are often related to these classical languages. Study of Greek and Latin is essential for biblical and early Christian studies, romance philosophy, or studies of ancient history and comparative literature. Many students contemplating graduate work in linguistics or the professional school of law, medicine, and dentistry find the classical languages advantageous undergraduate study. Teaching positions are available in both Greek (private schools) and Latin (public and private schools).
