Dr. John E. Charalambakis
John E. Charalambakis was born in Athens, Greece in 1964. In 1986 he graduated from the Athens School of Economics and Business majoring in Mathematical Economic Analysis. During his college years he worked for the American International Group achieving many awards. During his undergraduate studies he was the recipient of a fellowship from the National Scholarship Foundation.
In 1987, he came to the United States on a full scholarship for graduate studies and in 1989 he received his MBA with honors from Roosevelt University. Based on his graduate performance, the same year the National Honorary Society of Business Administration made him a full member. He continued his studies there with a full scholarship for a Ph.D. in Economics in a joint program with the University of East London, England. He successfully completed his Ph.D. in 1994.
Since 1992, he has been a professor of Economics at Asbury College. Prior to that he served as a lecturer in Economics at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Dr. Charalambakis is a firm believer in the values of the Liberal Arts Education that uplifts the human spirit in a wholistic way, to its God-given potential. His research interests are in the area of International Monetary Economics and in the area of Wesleyan thoughts regarding socioeconomic activities and policies.
Dr. Charalambakis has been serving on different boards and he is the author and editor of three books. In addition, he has been contributing articles to journals and periodicals and is a frequent conference speaker.
