I grew up in Breathitt County in Southeastern Kentucky where I graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. I am a third generation graduate of Asbury College, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Secondary Education in 2001.
After teaching two and a half years at Mt. Carmel High School, in 2004 I returned to Wilmore to work as Director of Operations for New Hope International Ministries on the campus of Asbury College. I worked with New Hope until August 2008. In February 2007 I started working part-time in the Asbury College Archives. In December 2007 I added a full-time position as Office Manager at the Jessamine County Public Library. I also serve as song leader and Treasurer for High Bridge Union Church.
My wife Amy is also a 2001 graduate of Asbury College, and we live in Wilmore. She works as an adoption caseworker for Adoption Assistance, Inc. We are in the process of adopting twin 3-year-old girls from Ethiopia.
