Creative Writing Camp

Join Asbury faculty for a five-day creative writing intensive! Here, you will increase your ability to find inspiration, create a first draft and revise, whether you choose to focus on fiction, creative non-fiction or poetry.

The camp is $360 per person, and includes food, lodging, and all expenses. Spaces are limited, so click here to register.
What You Can Expect:
- Learn to create characters that will move you through a story
- Find the stories in your life that will inspire others, and see how you can convey them in creative non-fiction
- Jump start poetry from universal prompts
- Meet individually with Dr. Hurlow or another experienced writer for a critique
- Participate in a directed workshop with other students in your chosen genre
About Your Instructor:
Dr. Marcia Hurlow is a professor in the Asbury University English Department. She has more than 300 poems in literary magazines and anthologies, and her books of poetry have won five national poetry competitions. Besides receiving other state and national awards for poetry, she has also published numerous short stories and creative non-fiction pieces.
