Life in Trustees
To help us grow intellectually, physically, spiritually, and socially, we offer programs and events that will provide us with insights, skills, or tools to help us succeed in becoming mature, capable men. Our scriptural basis is from Luke chapter 2, a chapter that is closed out by a short verse that says a lot about the gap between the story of Christmas and the three years of Jesus' teaching and life that encompass most of the gospels. The verse simply says, "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men." With this verse in mind, the Trustees staff decided to focus on how powerful it is to take the core concepts of life and commit to consistent excellence, and in doing so take daily steps toward our personal goals in these areas.
Programs
The central component of living in Trustees is the chance to share life with those you live with. Accordingly, we give careful attention to creating opportunities for informal gathering. Whether it's through a hall dinner or sharing the joys of intramurals, getting to know the guys you live with is an important part of our living community.
Every week we hold an event called Tuesdays @ 10:00. This is our chance to get together and hear from a variety of guest speakers on issues ranging from the relevancy of the Holiness Tradition, the difference in communication style between men and women, useful time management skills, etc.
Events
Another highlight is our semi-annual "Backyard Bash", which is a great chance for the campus to gather just to relax and fellowship together in the backyard of Trustees.
We also sponsor several events for the entire campus. This includes dinner/movie/discussion events in which the campus community is engaged in an important topic via media and a live expert's opinion.
EtCetera
We focus on providing opportunities for people to simply spend some time together. Personal relationships are a vital part in Christian community, and at Asbury the great people that live here are by far our biggest asset. We make sure that we get the chance to get to know one another.
