Events in Kresge

The women of Kresge are partnering with the women of Glide-Crawford as we go to Great Lengths! Great Lengths is a six-month challenge to grow out our hair in order to donate it for cancer patients in need of wigs. This is our way to help promote cancer awareness and to do something to give confidence back to children and women who have lost hair due to cancer treatments. The challenge begins in October (breast cancer awareness month) and ends in April (cancer awareness month). On October 10th we had our Great Lengths Kick Off event when over 20 Kresge women pledged to grow their hair.

High & Lifted Up

This is Kresge’s All Hall Koinonia (as we say at Asbury). We worship on the Kresge roof under the stars. We always have hot chocolate and coffee to keep us warm as we gather in the cool air of fall. It’s a great way to come together as a building.

In addition to the larger building and campus events Kresge offers, there are many events on each unit. Women go to local restaurants for half-price appetizers to celebrate birthdays, or they go off campus for hall retreats. Kresge women also gather in the units to study together.

Although the social events are fun and a large part of life in Kresge, the staff also organizes educational events. This semester we have the campus health educator coming to speak about women's preventive health issues. This is part of our breast cancer awareness program.
