The culmination of the 2024 Highbridge Film Festival, our showcase and awards program will take place in Hughes Auditorium on April 13 at 7 p.m. If you are unable to join us in person, watch the livestream broadcast from our main page with the pre-show beginning at 6:40 p.m.

Along with Highbridge Film Festival’s Official Selection designation and main category awards, there are additional awards announced during the showcase event.

Canon Equipment Prize - Best Cinematography Award

Canon is among the industry-leading movie camera companies that supplies filmmaking equipment to Asbury University’s School of Communication Arts. Many of the films screened in Highbridge Film Festival were shot using Canon cameras and lenses. Our sincere thanks to Canon for providing an equipment prize to this year’s Best Cinematography category winner.

NATAS Student Production Awards Entry and Asbury Media Communication Scholarship - Best High School Film Award

In partnership with the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (the Emmy Award organization), the best high school film award includes submission to the Student Production Awards competition. The best high school film award also includes a $1000 scholarship for Asbury University.

The Blake and Shannon Bailey Storytelling Award

Alongside Highbridge Film Festival, each year screenwriting students compete for the Blake and Shannon Bailey Storytelling Award and Scholarship. Sophomores and Juniors are eligible to enter this competition, and the winner received a grant for $5000 to fund the making of the film based on the winning screenplay. The winner of this year’s award is announced during the awards show, and the film from the prior year is screened during the audience award voting break.
