Counseling

Why Counseling?

High stress levels, depressed or sad mood, poor eating habits, loneliness, relationship problems, adjusting to new surroundings, poor concentration and just worrying about all of these and other things are some of the many reasons that students seek counseling while in college.

Often students just need a place to safely vent their frustrations and talk about their concerns and seek guidance for continued well being and healthy emotional growth.

Students who leave counseling are asked to complete a brief "customer evaluation" form. Collectively this information provides help in directing our programming and future services.

Here are some comments students have made when asked about their experience with
The Center for Counseling:

"It has been a valuable experience for me and vital to my survival as a student teacher and RA this semester."

"I feel that my counseling experience has helped me work through not just present struggles, but ones from my past as well. This has truly been a blessing to my life."

"I found the Center very helpful in working through some roommate conflicts this year."
