Join Our Challenger Alumni Consultant Network
How it Got Started
The Challenger Alumni Consultant Network was the senior gift to Asbury from the class of 1994. Believing that networking is the key to success in today's global job market where Asbury has over 10,000 alums, the purpose of the CACN is to bring together students who are considering various occupations with alumni who are in those occupations. The CACN is one way to bring our students and alumni together.
In 2002, the Office of Career Services partnered with eRecruiting to offer improved services to students and alumni. The CACN was moved to our eRecruiting web-based software where a mentoring management system allows us to maximize the potential of the CACN.
How CACN Works
By becoming a mentor, you will provide your contact information, basic educational background, and details about your current occupation. You decide how often you will permit the system to release your information to students who will be searching for mentors meeting their criteria. Only Asbury College students and alumni will have access to your information and they are limited to accessing only a certain number of mentor profiles each month. As a mentor you may choose how you will be contacted, by email or phone. Usually the mentoring conversations are short-term (one to two brief conversations). Those seeking mentors often need information about your occupation and career field, job opportunities within your field, or tips regarding a move to your geographic location.
