The Wilmore-Orlando site programs of Asbury University utilize distance learning resource technology (DLR) in the delivery of the majority of the program.
The DLR technology that is in use by ATS is based on the Sony Anycast video production system. Each location is able to simultaneously see on multiple flat screen displays the audience at the remote location, the instructor, and the computer screen (usually a PowerPoint presentation). There are microphones not only on the instructor but also throughout the audience at each location in order for both locations to hear any questions from the class or discussion of the course content. Video production engineers at each location operate the video and audio equipment in order for the live two-way video system to work smoothly without the instructor needing to have any knowledge of the DLR technology.
