WILMORE, Ky. - After dropping a similar 8-1 decision earlier in the week to KIAC foe Brescia, the Eagles handed the Celtics from Carlow an 8-1 defeat on Saturday in KIAC play.
The Eagles took two out of the three doubles matches with wins by partners Alex LoPrinizi and Laura Ross sweeping their opponents 8-0 and partners Juleah Morehouse and Miriam Waslewski dominating their foes 8-3.
Asbury’s singles competition came out on top with a complete sweep, winning all six games. Sarah Beth Alford, LoPrinizi, Ross, Waslewski, Morehouse and Kara Kaneko all finished their matches with wins and only 14 sets taken against them in the entire singles competition.
The Eagles scored another win for their season record of 9-3 and conference record of 5-1. They continue in their conference competition for the weekend on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. where they will go head-to-head with Indiana University Southeast and St. Louis College of Pharmacy in Wilmore.
