Women's Tennis Slides By Berea Again, 5-4
WILMORE, Ky. - The Asbury University Eagles's women's tennis were able to come up with a win tonight against Berea by the slimmest of margins, 5-4.
The Eagles and Mountaineers actually had to switch venues from Wilmore to Lexington due to impending darkness midway into the match.
The doubles team of Miriam Waslewski and Juleah Morehouse brought home a win-- their seventh of the season-- defeating doubles team Kaila Noland and Ashley Logan 8-0. This extends the Waslewski/Morehouse team record to 7-1.
Waslewski, Laura Ross, Morehouse and Kara Kaneko were also victorious in their singles games to bring the Eagles out on top.
Kaneko won her match under the lights when the game was on the line and the score was 4-4. After winning the first game 7-6 and falling short the second game 4-6, Kaneko was able to defeat Berea’s Kristol Whitt 7-5, gaining the winning point for her team.
Eagles will play again tomorrow, Saturday October 12, @ 12:00 p.m. in Wilmore. They take on Indiana University East.
