Oakland City Grounds Eagles in 6-3 Loss
OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - The Eagles' women's tennis team headed to Oakland City University on Friday for a rematch against a team they beat earlier this season, but couldn't find their stride in what turned out to be a 6-3 loss on Oakland City's Senior Day.
The Eagles (6-2) found it tough in the early going where they have historically been very good this season-- in the doubles matches. All three duos dropped their matches including the duo of Miriam Waslewski and Juleah Morehouse who entered the afternoon with an unbeaten record. Waslewski and Morehouse fared the best of the duos as they were narrowly defeated 9-7 by their counterparts.
In the singles matches, the Eagles met similar opposition.
No. 1 Sarah Beth Alford lost in straight sets, and No. 2 Alex LoPrinzi was downed despite a first set win.
Laura Ross, Kara Kaneko, and Waslewski each won their individual matches to garner Asbury's three earned points.
The Eagles have little time to regroup as they get back to action tomorrow, Oct. 5th, against St. Louis Pharmacy.
