Women's Tennis Schedule Released

The Eagles look to back up a school-record 18 wins in 2010 with a solid 2011.WILMORE, Ky. – Asbury University has released the women’s tennis fall 2011 schedule as announced by coach Jarred Miller.  The Eagles will play 16 matches including eight at home in September and October. 

The Eagles open with three road matches in a four day span, heading to Richmond, Ind. to face Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Indiana East on September 2nd.  The next day Asbury will take on Franklin College, and after a day of rest will head to southeastern Kentucky to play another KIAC opponent in Alice Lloyd on Labor Day, September 5th. 

Asbury’s home opener will be on September 9th as they host Marian University, followed by a match with Brescia on the 10th.  The only other non-KIAC home match will be on September 26th as Oakland City rolls into town.

The Eagles finished last year with a school record 18 wins against only eight losses.  They were 9-3 in KIAC matches last year and will play a 13th league match as St. Louis Pharmacy has added women’s tennis.

Asbury will take part in the Centre College Invitational on Saturday September 17th.  The tournament is a flighted singles and doubles tournament that last year featured five teams.  ITA Regionals will be held from September 29th-October 1st in Owensboro.  Owensboro will also play host to the KIAC Tournament on October 28th and 29th.
