Tennis title run falls short
BEREA, Ky. – Asbury’s run to the KIAC Women’s Tennis Title fell short on Saturday morning as Indiana Southeast sent the Eagles home with a 5-0 loss. This was only Asbury’s fourth loss of the season as they finished 17-4, three of their losses came to IUS.
The Eagles made the finals of the KIAC for the first time in school history and shattered the record for wins (10 in 1990) in this historic season. The match ended once a winner was determined as IUS swept doubles and won number three and six singles.
Asbury will await word to see if they are selected for either the NAIA or NCCAA National Tournaments in the spring.
