Eagles Sweep Alice Lloyd Aside
WILMORE, Ky. – Asbury cruised to a 9-0 victory over Alice Lloyd in their final KIAC match of the season dropping only two games the entire match. Asbury finishes with their most wins ever in conference at 9-3, they are 14-3 overall with one match remaining before the KIAC tournament.
Sarah Marshall and Malory Hurtle improved to 10-6 and 6-5 in the conference with an 8-0 victory in number one doubles. Miriam Waslewski and Chelsea Linhart jumped up to number two doubles and won 8-1. The Eagles won number three doubles by default as Alice Lloyd only had five players make the trip.
Coach Jarred Miller shuffled his lineup on senior day to allow Asbury’s lone senior, Chelsea Linhart to play singles. Linhart didn’t drop a game in taking number five singles 6-0, 6-0. Morgan Amis was bumped up to number four for the second time this year and won 6-0, 6-0. Britannia Hormel and Jordan Myers won at number two and number one singles 6-0, 6-0. Miriam Waslewski improved to 17-0 for the season in a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number three singles.
Asbury is scheduled to wrap up their regular season with a home match against Campbellsville University on Wednesday October 27th at 4:00 pm. The KIAC tournament will be held on October 29th and 30th at Berea College.
