Eagles Can't Get Past IUS
NEW ALBANY, Ind. – For the first eight matches no one could beat Asbury’s women’s tennis team, but for the second time this week Indiana Southeast was able to do so, with a 6-3 victory on Thursday evening.
The loss drops Asbury (8-2, 4-2 KIAC) into a tie with Midway for second place in the conference and leaves IUS as the only unbeaten. The duo of Jordan Myers and Britannia Hormel were able to avenge a loss in doubles on Tuesday by beating Emma Duke and Kelsey Wisman 9-7 on Thursday.
Miriam Waslewski stayed perfect on the season in singles with an easy 6-1, 6-1 victory over Lisann Goodin at the number five position. Morgan Amis bounced back after losing a three set match to Jessica Hartlage on Tuesday with a 6-1, 6-1 victory on Thursday.
The Eagles continue on their road trip today as they take on Oakland City University at 1:00 pm.
