Asbury Takes Two From Berea

WILMORE, Ky. – Asbury took two matches from Berea College on Wednesday, 6-1 in the regularly scheduled match and 5-0 in the completion of a match from September 24.  The Eagles improve to 13-2 overall and 8-2 in the KIAC.

In the first match the Eagles took the only doubles match and the top five singles matches.  Mallory Hurtle and Sarah Marshall improved to 9-5 at the number one doubles spot.  The top five singles players each lost five games or less in their respective matches.

In the second match of the day only singles were played and again the Eagles took the top five singles, number six singles was not completed.  Once again the Eagles had very little trouble defeating the Mountaineers.  Miriam Waslewski stayed perfect on the season, improving to 15-0 in singles play.  Sarah Marshall joined here in double digit wins as she now stands at 10-5.  Britannia Hormel moves to 9-3 as Mallory Hurtle improves to 9-4.  Jordan Myers jumped above .500 with the two wins and now sits at 8-7 on the year.

Due to the completion of the previously suspended match the Eagles and Mountaineers will no longer play on Friday.  Asbury will next be in action on Monday October 18th when they host Midway College at 4:00 pm.
