Hurtle Named KIAC Player of the Week
Malory Hurtle was named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week. Hurtle was a key component in Asbury’s 6-3 win over Mount Saint Joseph on Thursday, winning both her doubles and singles match.
Teaming with Sarah Marshall, the pair took their doubles match 9 – 7 after being down in the match. On the singles side, Hurtle won her match 6 – 4 and 6 – 2. The sophomore from North Vernon, Indiana played all of last year in the number one doubles and singles position, but this year is able to drop down in singles to play in the number two position.
Hurtle was a member of the All-KIAC Team as a freshman and is the first Women’s Tennis Player of the Week in the KIAC for Asbury since the award was started last year.
