Valentien Named ASC Swimmer of the Week
WILMORE, Ky. – Asbury freshman Kayley Valentien was named Appalachian Swim Conference women’s swimmer of the week on Wednesday by conference officials. Valentien notched multiple NAIA Qualifying times in dual meets this past weekend.
In a dual meet win against Lindsey Wilson on Friday evening, Kayley won the 400 IM with a qualifying time of 4:51.24. She would later go on to win the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:28.65. Valentien continued the momentum on Saturday in leading the Eagles to wins against Bethel University and Union College. She placed second in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:02.90; first in the 200 Breaststroke with an NAIA National Qualifying time of 2:35.50, and finished up the day by winning the 200 IM with a lifetime best swim of 2:19.69.
Asbury will be back in the pool on Nov. 16-17 at the Brenau Invitational in Gainesville, Ga.
