Eagles Finish Regular Season Unbeaten

WILMORE, Ky. – Asbury’s women capped off a perfect dual meet season with a 127-87 thrashing of University of the Cumberlands on Saturday.  This marks the first time in school history the women have been unbeaten in dual meets.  They have also placed first in all three invitational meets this year as well.

The women used their depth to take down the Patriots for the third straight year, after winning only four of the nine individual races.  The Eagles won both relays, taking the top two places in the 400-yard Medley.

Four different Eagles won races on this day, with Ellen Worsham, Allie Hubach, Larissa Martin, and Sarah Ritter all taking the top spot.  Worsham won the 200-yard free in 2:01.36 and Hubach the 50-yard free in 25.40.  Larissa Martin took the 200-yard fly in 2:17.57 and Sarah Ritter won the 100-yard free in 55.48.

Asbury had 24 top four finishers on the day including sweeping the top three positions in the 200 fly and 100 free.  Taryn Albright and Rebecca Landry finished behind Martin in the 200 fly and Hubach and Worsham were less than a second behind Ritter in the 100 free.

The women will next be in action on February 18-19 as they travel to the Appalachian Swim Conference Meet hosted by Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.  The Eagles are the three time defending champions.
