Asbury Swimming Sweeps Berea
Wilmore, Ky. - The Berea College Swimming and Diving team came to the Luce Center for a dual meet against the Asbury College Eagles on Friday January 22nd. The men's and women's teams each tallied another win improving their records to 7-1 and 7-1 respectively. The men won the meet with a score of 99-51 while the women won by a score of 95-40.
The men had first place finishes by juniors Andrew Canada (200 Individual Medley), Matt Hood (100 Backstroke), Alex Losekamp (500 Freestyle), sophomores Blake Lawless (100 Butterfly), Malachi Oyer (100 Freestyle), and freshmen Trevor Ehrenheim (100 Breaststroke) and Nathan Runtas (50 Freestyle).
Senior Abigail Sterneman (100 Freestyle), junior Allie Hubach (100 Butterfly), sophomores Amy Marion (200 Freestyle), Ellen Worsham (50 Freestyle), and freshman Ranay Ray (200 Individual Medley) touched the wall first in their respective events for the women.
The Asbury Eagles will travel to Evansville, Indiana on Saturday, January 23 for a dual meet against NCAA Division I Purple Aces of the University of Evansville. This will mark the first dual meet Asbury has faced an opponent from the NCAA Division I level.
