Hood, Hubach Named Swimmers of the Week
Wilmore, Ky. - The swimming program is already making a big splash in the Appalachian Swimming and Diving Conference. Juniors Matt Hood and Allie Hubach have been announced as the male and female swimmer of week two of the swimming and diving inaugural season.
Matt Hood swam to three first place finishes in the 100 Free, 200 Free, and 200 Free Relay, and a second place finish in the 50 Free, in the double-dual meet against Union College (Ky.) and Bellermine University (Ky.) on October 17. Hood has already qualified to the NAIA National Championship Meet in the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 200 Free.
Allie Hubach placed first in the 50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free, and 200 Free Relay on the same meet, and has qualified for the National Championship Meet that will take place in March 3-6 in St. Peters, Mo.
Asbury College is the two-time defending team champion for men's, women's, and combined scores at the Appalachian Swimming and Diving Conference Meet. The Eagles look to repeat their success in the pool at the Conference Championship February 19-20 at Marshall University.
The Eagles will compete this Friday, October 30, 2009 at 6:30 pm against Centre College in Danville, Ky.
