Eagles Make Waves In Double Dual Meet

Wilmore, Ky. - Asbury hosted their second meet of the season as Bellarmine University (Ky.) and Union College (Ky.) came into the Eagle's waters Saturday afternoon.  The Asbury men defeated the Bulldogs of Union and the Knights of Bellarmine to improve their season record to 3-0, while the girls handily defeated Union and Bellarmine to get to a 4-0 start on the season.

The Asbury men were led first place finishes by Matt Hood (200 Free/100 Free/200 Free Relay), Chris Lipka (200 Fly), Brady Lewis (1000 Free), Malachi Oyer (500 Free), Blake Lawless (200 Free Relay), Trevor Ehrenheim (100 Back/200 Back/400 IM), Tyler Decker (200 Free Relay), and Nathan Runtas (200 Free Relay).

The women were led by Abigail Sterneman (100 Breast/200 Breast), Allie Hubach (200 Free/50 Free), Hannah Amstutz (1000 Free/500 Free) Larissa Martin (100 Fly/200 Fly/400 IM), and Ranay Ray (100 Back/200 Back).

After only two meets of the season the Eagles already have swimmers punching a ticket to the "Show Me State" for the NAIA National Championship Meet in St. Louis, March 3-6, 2010.  Qualifiers are:  (Women) Abigail Sterneman, Allie Hubach, Larissa Martin, Hannah Amstutz, Larissa Meadows, Ranay Ray, (Men) Matt Hood, Trevor Ehrneheim, and both men's and women's 200 free and medley relays.

The Eagles next meet is a dual meet against Centre College in Danville, Ky., on Friday, October 30 at 6:30 p.m.
