CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Asbury Eagles extended their KIAC win streak to six games—in six tries— following their 1-0 win over Cincinnati Christian University (4-14) on Tuesday night. The win in the regular season finale adds to the momentum the Eagles have started building late in the season. The win also comes in the final game of the season and just one contest after locking up the no. 1 seed in the KIAC tournament Saturday against Point Park.
The Eagles (9-8, 6-0) controlled the tempo throughout the game, and as a result, senior, Andrea Hasik found enough space to score the lone and deciding goal of the game.
Tuesday night’s win featured a fury of feats for the Eagles. Not only did it secure the no. 1 seed, but the win also moved Asbury to above a .500 winning percentage for the first time all season. In addition, Asbury became the KIAC regular season champions for the first time since 2011. Lastly, Asbury moved undefeated in KIAC regular season play for the third time in the past six seasons.
Asbury gets exactly one week to prepare for their first round KIAC opponent, which they will play on November 5th here in Wilmore, Ky. The Eagles’ opponent will be determined in the first round game on November 2nd.
