Women's Soccer Held Scoreless by Georgetown
GEORGETOWN, Ky. - The Eagles’ women soccer team traveled to Georgetown, Ky., Friday night to take on the Tigers from Georgetown College. Asbury fought valiantly, but couldn’t find the right combination as they fell 0-3 to the Tigers who ended up celebrating on homecoming weekend in winning fashion.
Georgetown earned one goal in the first half and two more in the second half to improve their record to 5-4 on the season.
Junior Sam Amend of Georgetown scored late in the first half to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
The Lady Eagles looked to equalize the first half goal given up, but unfortunately couldn’t get some dangerous opportunities to find twine and ultimately gave up goals number two and three putting the game out of reach.
Asbury had their opportunities, but couldn’t catch a break. Asbury had five shots on goal, six total shots, and two corner kicks to complete the offensive stats. Sophomore goalie Lizzie Hoffa had three saves on the night as well.
Asbury (4-8) returns to Wilmore and will look to improve their home record to 4-2 on the season
