Bird, Ury Named All-KIAC

WILMORE, Ky. – Freshman Jenna Bird and sophomore Meredith Ury were named to the KIAC women’s soccer All-Conference team as voted on by league coaches.  Both players are making their first appearance on the team.

Bird led the Eagles with 10 goals on the season and also added four assists.  Bird was one of only four players to start all 18 matches for the Eagles.  She scored two goals on four different occasions including against Cumberlands (Ky.) in the regular season finale and then again in the very next match, the KIAC Tournament opener against Midway.  Ury scored two of her four goals in the KIAC Tournament game against Midway.  Her six assists led the team.   

The Eagles finished the season 5-12-1 overall and 3-3 in the KIAC.  After defeating Midway 5-0 in the KIAC Tournament first round the Eagles were upended by top-seed Carlow (Pa.) 1-0 in the semifinals.
