Batey Takes Rare Double Award from KIAC
BEREA, Ky. – Asbury University senior Jessica Batey was named the KIAC women’s soccer offensive and defensive player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, October 15th. A rare double, no one has pulled off this feat in the KIAC since 2008.
Batey scored three goals last week as Asbury finished the week 1-1-1. She scored a pair of goals in a 4-3 loss to Midway and also scored a goal in a 3-3 tie with Oakland City University. In addition, the Asbury senior also played 147 minutes in goal for the Eagles. She played the entire match in goal in the Asbury 2-1 win over Cincinnati Christian University. The Eagles are currently 2-8-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play. They will return to action on October 19th when they travel to Point Park University.
