Women's Soccer Hosts Futsal Tournament

WILMORE, Ky. – This past weekend the women’s soccer team hosted their annual Futsal tournament in the Luce Center.  Six colleges and universities as well as three club teams sent teams to the 5-v-5 indoor tournament.

Lindsey Wilson won the tournament as over 20 teams competed.  Games were played on the three Luce Center basketball courts.  Other teams that were represented include: Campbellsville University, Asbury University, Centre College, Georgetown College, Cincinnati Christian University, Jessamine Storm, Lexington Football Club and Central Kentucky Soccer Club. 

Futsal games are played with five players on each side including the goalkeepers.  The ball used is smaller and bounces less than a normal ball to aid in control on the hard surface.
