Seeds Announced for NCCAA Women's Soccer Tournament

Women's SoccerWILMORE, Ky. – Asbury’s women’s soccer team will travel to Kissimmee, Fla. for the NCCAA National Tournament as the seventh seed in the eight-team tournament.  All matches will be held at Austin-Tindall Park beginning on November 30.

The Eagles enter the tournament for the fifth time and first since 2008.  They will open against the second seeded Lancers from Grace College on November 30th at 12 p.m.  Grace enters the tournament winners of the Mid-West Region and hold a 12-7-2 overall record.  Asbury and Grace have never faced each other.

Asbury earned the right to play in the national tournament after winning the Mid-East Region 2-1 over Covenant last weekend.  The Eagles hold a 1-10-1 record in the national tournament, and placed sixth overall back in 2008.

All matches except for the 7th place match will be streamed live on-line by the Game Plan Sports Network.  There will be no charge for watching any of the matches.  It is still unknown whether live stats will be available for any of the matches.

Cal Baptist enters the tournament as the top seed and will face eighth seeded Colorado Christian in the first round.  The other two first round matches will see third seeded Trinity International face sixth seeded Truett McConnell College and fourth seeded Mount Vernon Nazarene face fifth seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan.  Each team will play three matches regardless of outcomes.  They will all take part in a service project on Friday, which will also serve as an off-day from competition.
