Eagles to Play for Title
MIDWAY, Ky. – Asbury women’s soccer team will play in the KIAC Championship game for the sixth straight year after a 4-0 win over Berea in the semi-finals on Friday afternoon. The Eagles had won four in a row before losing to Cincinnati Christian in last year’s title game.
Rebecca Batey scored three goals for the Eagles against the Mountaineers including the lone goal in the first half on a penalty kick. She would add two more in the second half and has scored 15 on the season and is two away from 50 for her career. Emily Lawson would knock home the final goal in the game.
The Eagles will once again battle Cincinnati Christian on Saturday in the championship game at 1 p.m. at Midway. Asbury beat CCU 2-0 up in Cincinnati earlier this year. They have outscored conference opponents 19-0 through four regular season and one tournament game this season.
