Early Goals Too Much to Overcome
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Two first-half goals were too much to overcome for the Eagles on Wednesday night as they snapped their three game winning streak with a 2-0 loss to Campbellsville.
It was a tale of two halves on this night as Campbellsville (3-2) scored in the 15th and 27th minutes, two of their nine shots in the half. Ashley Corum netted the first goal off an assist from Megan Campbell and Jessica Ralph added the second goal. The Eagles were only able to get off two shots before intermission.
In the second half Asbury (3-3) would create more chances, putting four shots on frame only to be saved by Brandie Hagerman each time. Asbury keeper Megan Rogers made five saves, her most since she saved eight at Taylor.
Asbury has won all three home games and dropped all three road games to start the year. The Eagles have failed to score on the road but have scored 11 goals at home. Asbury will hit the road again on Friday, travelling to Nashville to take on Trevecca Nazarene at 8 p.m.
