Batey's Two Goals Leads Eagles Past Lions

WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury offense came alive against Bryan College on Saturday night, winning 3-0, but dominating the game from the beginning.  The Eagles fired 26 shots, 12 on target, the Lions only were able to get three shots off.

Rebecca Batey recorded her first multi-goal game of the season and the 10th of her career.  Batey’s first came in the 10th minute as Kaitlyn Hooper found her in the box and Batey finished past keeper Stephanie Gagnon.  Batey would add her second goal early in the second half as Meredith Ury found her in the box again, this time beating Gagnon to the right side.  Andrea Hasik added her second goal of the season later in the game for the Eagles.

Asbury (2-2) has now scored nine goals in their last two games after failing to score in their first two.  The Eagles have also taken 60 shots in the last two games as they have dictated the flow of the game in both games.

Maegan Rogers faced only three shots, turning away both that were on frame.  She left after 74 minutes after taking a shot diving for a ball over a Bryan player.

Asbury will have a week to prepare for Covenant College who they will host on Saturday September 10th at 1 p.m.  The Lady Scots beat the Eagles last year in Georgia 1-0.
