Eagles Come Up Short Against Tigers
Georgetown, KY – Asbury gave up three first half goals to Georgetown College in a 4-1 loss to the Tigers on Wednesday evening. The loss drops Asbury to 0-6 on the season while Georgetown improves to 4-1.
The Eagles started slow in the first half, getting off only two shots, but were able to get some good looks in the second half. Asbury’s lone goal came off the foot of Rebecca Batey her third of the season. Her sister Jessica picked up her first assist of the season on the play.
Georgetown scored three times in the first half, two by Kelsey Ach and one by Alex Harbowy. The Tigers peppered Asbury keeper Maegan Rogers with 15 of their 24 shots in the first half. Rogers made three saves in the first half, five for the match. The second half saw the Eagles play with more energy, shots were tied nine to nine in the second frame.
Asbury wraps up their five game road stretch on Saturday September 18th when they open KIAC action against Mountain State. Kickoff is set for 4:00 pm. The Eagles return home on Tuesday September 21st to host Lincoln Memorial University at 7:00 pm.
