Eagles Bust Through With Seven Goal Barrage

Beckley, WV – Asbury battled back from two early deficits to gain their first win of the season, 7-2 over Mountain State in their KIAC opener.  The Eagles have a 15-1 record inside the conference since 2006.

Rebecca Batey scored two more goals and had an assist in the win.  Batey has now scored five of the team’s 12 goals this season.  Kat Leibbrandt added a pair of goals, her first two as a collegian.  The Eagles found themselves down 1-0 and 2-1 but were able to finally able to open up offensively for the first time this season.

Asbury will return home after a five game road trip on Tuesday September 21st to host Lincoln Memorial University at 7:00 pm.
