Asbury Comes Up Short Against Transy

Danville, KY – Asbury’s women continued their early season struggles in a 4-1 loss to Transylvania University on Friday in the final day of the Centre College Women’s Soccer Showcase.  The Eagles were unable to build much of an attack in the defeat.

Asbury (0-4) scored their lone goal off a free kick again, this time senior Bethany Russell buried home a deflection off of Transy’s keeper.  Russell was able to start and play the whole game as a field player instead of playing keeper.  Maegan Rogers returned to goal for the Eagles, her first appearance since leaving the season opener with an injury.

The Eagles continue their five game road trip with a trip to Bryan College on September 11th.  Kick-off is set for 6:00 pm.
