Women's Soccer Schedule Released

Wilmore, Ky. – Asbury University women’s soccer Coach Paul Nesselroade has released the schedule for the 2010 season.  The Eagles open with a home scrimmage against St. Catharine College on August 23rd with the season opener, also at home, against Spring Arbor on August 25th.

The Eagles will play half of their 18 games at home during the season including KIAC matches against Brescia University on September 29th and Cincinnati Christian University on October 27th.  Asbury will host Campbellsville University for Homecoming on Saturday October 30th at 12:30 pm.  Other home dates include Taylor University, NCAA Division II Lincoln Memorial University, Cedarville University, Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and Union University (Tenn.).

A five game road trip early in the season accounts for more than half of the Eagles’ away games.  Included in that block is a trip to Danville, Kentucky to face Transylvania University and Centre College on September 1st and 3rd.  The longest trip of the season will take the Eagles to Lookout Mountain, Georgia to take on Covenant College on October 9th. 

This year’s KIAC Tournament will be hosted by Berea College on November 5th and 6th.  Asbury is the four-time reigning champion and will be looking to advance to the NAIA National Championship for the second straight year with a fifth title.  This year’s NAIA Opening Round on November 21st with the remainder of the tournament taking place between November 29th and December 4th in Decatur, Alabama.
