Asbury (12-6) got their lone goal in the 50th minute as Rebecca Batey got past Covenant's back line and beat the keeper one-on-one for the game's lone goal.  Senior Ashley Amburgy played a perfect trough ball in the middle third that got Batey in, but the Eagles also had some luck on their side as Covenant's defender slipped on the sloppy field.

Due to the field conditions most of the match was played trying to gain possession by each team, Covenant got off only 10 shots and Asbury se

ven.  Covenant controlled the ball most of the first half but gave it up early in the second half that led to Asbury's goal.  The Eagles had to fight off a ferocious attack in the final five minutes.  Melanie Dickson made three saves in goal on the afternoon for the Eagles.

Asbury will head into the KIAC Tournament at home next weekend as the #1 seed and will play their semi-final on Friday at 4:00 pm.  Their opponent will be determined during the week as the quarterfinal matches are played at the #3 and #4 seeds' home field.  The Championship game will be played Saturday at 2:00 pm.
