Asbury Dealt Second Straight Loss

  • Harrogate, Tenn. - Asbury continues to search for their first goal of the season after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Lincoln Memorial University on Thursday evening.  Asbury dropped their opener on Monday afternoon by the same 2-0 score.

    Asbury again gave up another early goal in the 24th minute when Becky Thompson chipped one over the head of freshmen keeper Melanie Dickson (Kahului, Hawaii).  Dickson did come away with another six saves in her second straight start in goal.  Both teams kept the keepers on their toes firing off 34 total shots with LMU leading the way 20-14.  Asbury put six shots on goal. 

    Once again depth came into play as the Eagles only used three subs while the Lincoln Memorial used 11 subs.  Asbury only used two subs in the first game of the season. 

    Asbury will host Centre College on Tuesday September 1st at 7:00 pm before hosting Bryan College and Bluefield College on Friday September 4th and 5th at 8:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
