Women's Soccer Takes 2nd In Futsal

On Saturday, March 7th Lincoln Memorial hosted their annual Futsal tournament. Futsal is a version of small-sided soccer that uses a low-bounce ball, somewhat smaller goal, and basketball court dimensions. It is 5 v 5 (4 and a goalie).

Asbury competed against teams from several other schools (Lincoln Memorial, Union College, U of Cumberlands, and Centre).

Asbury's "A" squad went undefeated in their group, beating Centre 4 - 2 and Union 2 - 1, and tying Cumberlands 3 - 3 and Lincoln Memorial 3 - 3. Carol Fogler scored an impressive 10 goals over the four games. Unfortunately Lincoln Memorial got through in the group due to having one more win; Asbury finished second.

Asbury's "B" team came in a respectable 4th position in their group of six, beating Union and a "B" team from Lincoln Memorial and falling to a Union alumni team and another "B" team from Lincoln Memorial and a U of Cumberlands team.

Asbury has been sending teams to this tournament for the past 4 years. This is the best finish we have had.
