Lawson Signs With Eagles

Wilmore, KY---The Asbury College Athletics Department is pleased to announce the signing of Emily Lawson from Christian Academy of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky to

Emily Lawson (Christian Academy of Louisville) signed to play soccer for Asbury on Friday February 6th.

Lawson joins CAL teammate Aly Crawford in signing on to play at Asbury.  While at CAL Lawson, a defender, was named All-State Honorable Mention in 2007.  She was also 1st Team All-Region in '06,'07, and '08, as well as 1st Team All-District in '05, '06, and '07.  Lawson was named to the All-Tournament team at the Male Bulldog tournament in 2006 and to the CAL Classic in 2005.  She was given the CAL Player's Player Award in '07 and '08. 

Coach Nesselroade belives that Lawson will bring much needed help to a back line that lost two starters from the 2008 season.  "Emily is a very strong player that will really help us in our ability to play against top quality opponents.  She is very skilled and tenacious which will help our back line.  She is a perfect fit for our program, and a perfect fit for Asbury."

Lawson plans to major in Elementary Education.
