Crawford signs with Eagles

Wilmore, KY---Asbury College Athletics is pleased to announce the signing of women's soccer player Aly Crawford. Crawford (Christian Academy of Louisville) has played in goal, as a defender, and most recently as a striker. Crawford helped lead her club team, Louisville Soccer Alliance Element, to 1st place in the Derby Cup, as well as Bluegrass Invitational Finalists and District Runner-Up in 2008. In 2007 LSA Element was State Runner-Up, District Runner-Up, Louisville Cup Champions, Kick in the Bluegrass Champions, and Derby Cup Finalists. In 2008 Crawford was named to the CAL All-Tournament Team as well as the Regional All-Tournament Team. Coach Paul Nesselroade thinks that Crawford will only add to a program that has won three straight KIAC Regular and Tournament Titles. "It is really exciting for our program to add a student-athlete of Aly's caliber. Her athleticism, skill and intensity will have an immediate positive impact on our team." Crawford is also eligible to compete as Asbury's scholarship weekend in February after earning the highest automatic academic award that Asbury offers.
