Eagles Fall to Georgetown

Wilmore, KY---The Asbury College women's soccer team fell to Georgetown Tuesday night at home 2-0. The Eagles have still never beaten the Tigers and lose for the first time since September 22nd against Lincoln Memorial. Asbury was 5-0-1 since that loss to LMU before Tuesday.

Crocker scored two the three goals this weekend including the game winner over Mountain State giving the Eagles the KIAC regular season title.

Asbury (8-7-1) fell behind early when Savanna Evans scored in the 11th minute for the Tigers. The Eagles struggled offensively all night only getting off seven shots. Ashley Stigall added the final goal in the 35th minute.

Keeper Maegan Rogers had five saves in goal for the Eagles, but Asbury couldn't overcome the first half deficit.

Asbury played two matches over the weekend, getting a 1-1 double overtime draw against Milligan College and beating KIAC opponent Mountain State 2-1. Katie Crocker scored a goal in each game, and Bethany Russell added a goal against Mountain State.

Asbury has secured the top seed in the conference tournament with the victory of Mountain State; the tournament will be hosted by Mountain State and played at Bluefield College starting November 7th. Asbury hopes to finish conference play undefeated when the travel to Midway on Saturday. Game time is set for 11 am. Asbury will host Senior Night on Monday October 27th at 7 pm when they take on Shawnee State University.
