Eagles Down Patriots
Williamsburg, KY---The Asbury College women's soccer team picked up an overtime win against University of the Cumberlands 2-1 Saturday. Jessica Young's third goal of the season in the 96th minute sent the Eagles home happy.
Asbury (4-6) scored first, right after halftime when sophomore midfielder Katie Crocker netted her first goal of the season off an assist from Carol Fogler. University of the Cumberlands would answer less than three minutes later when Jamie Roberts beat Asbury keeper Maegan Rogers. Rogers came up with 14 saves in the match.
The two teams would battle for more than 40 minutes before Young's goal ended it in the 96th minute. Miranda Wiley had the assist on the game winner.
Asbury will play at home twice this week, Thursday at 7pm against Cincinnati Christian and Saturday at 12:30pm against Trevecca Nazarene University. The JV team will also play twice this week, Wednesday at 7pm against Lindsey Wilson and Friday at 7pm against Johnson Bible.
