Men's Soccer falls to Covenant (Ga.), 4-0
Asbury looked to continue it's winning ways after a thrilling 5-4 win over Georgetown College on Tuesday, but it was not to be as they ran into a talented Covenant College squad from Lookout Mountain, losing 4-0. The Eagles were outshot for the game, 25-7, only being able to produce four shots on goal compared to Covenant's ten. Asbury proved resilient in the first half, holding a scoreless tie before Covenant would begin to capitalize on their chances, pulling away.
The result puts Asbury back at 4-6 overall, 0-1 in KIAC play heading to a conference game at Brescia University on Monday night in Owensboro. The men return home on Wednesday night to face Transylvania University at 7:00 p.m. before closing out Homecoming Weekend with another conference match against Berea (Ky.) College on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. There will be a dedication ceremony for the soccer field shortly before kickoff as well as the presentation of the Homecoming Court at halftime.
