Women's Soccer secures KIAC Championship

Asbury secured its first-ever KIAC Women's Soccer Tournament championship with a 2-0 win over Berea. The Eagles got on the board first after a penalty kick was awarded in the 13th minute. Senior Jodi DeLong converted the opportunity and the Eagles held the 1-0 advantage until halftime. Coming out in the second half, freshman Miranda Wiley tallied her 22nd goal of the season in the 50th minute to provide the final margin. The win improves the team to 14-4-1 overall.

The team now heads to the NAIA Region XII Tournament to be held by Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Ga. The tournament is a four-team playoff to be held this weekend, Friday and Saturday, November 3rd and 4th. The Eagles are the second game on Friday, playing Virginia Intermont at 2:00 p.m. eastern time. Should they win, they would face the winner of Covenant and King College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
