Combs Leads Eagles in First Tournament
LONDON, Ky. – Asbury women’s golf finished their first tournament of the season on Friday, placing 8th in the Bill Sergent Invitational hosted by Cumberlands (Ky.) at Crooked Creek. Madison Combs led the Eagles with a two-day total of 180.
Cumberlands ran away with the tournament, posting a 616, fifteen shots ahead of Lee University. Liz Stephens from Cumberlands won the individual medalist honors with an even-par 146. The Patriots had three of the top four finishers.
Combs finished tied for 28th in the 44 player field. Jessica Pence and Amanda Smith shot 206 and 213 respectfully while Mary Beth Cunningham and Haley Kirk each shot 216.
The Eagles will head to Campbellsville for their next tournament on September 17-18.
