Eagles Fifth After Day One at Unaffiliated Tournament

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Asbury women’s golf sits in fifth place after day one of the KIAC/MSC Unaffiliated Grouping Tournament at Maywood Country Club.  Cumberlands (Ky.) leads the eight team field with a 328 score, followed by Lindsey Wilson with a 341.  Asbury shot a 392.

Madison Combs sits in three-way tie for 8th place after 18 holes, shooting  an 85 on the first day.  Combs is only four strokes out of second place and nine back of LWC’s Kaitlin Allen who shot a 76 in the first round.

Asbury’s Sarah Hagan shot a 99 in the first round as Jessica Pence, Meredith Robison and Emily Puckett shot a 102, 106 and 107 respectively.  The Eagles sit one stroke ahead of St. Catharine and 13 behind the only other KIAC member, Brescia.

Tuesday’s final round will begin at 8 a.m. at Maywood.
